I’m not 100% sure what my mum used to take her life on that tragic day back in 2012. Just the same as I can’t tell you why, but for some reason I envision a belt being the fatal instrument in her self-inflicted demise. On the 20th of August a few years ago my life changed forever. Belt Buckle is my attempt to help you capture the image of how the past has unfolded and made me who I am today.

Drugs, Depression and Dealing with the Devil all bring you a new notch on The Belt sealed by a solid metal buckle holding together what is Smegz MC. Belt Buckle - in loving memory of my mom, Catherine Leanne Colley. This is just a small part of a story not close to being finished, it isn't 10 sad songs chucked together, it’s an expression of character and a description of self-worth. A comedic twist on over indulgence and dealing with darkness. The Belt is what I envision when I think about it and The Belt Buckle is symbolic for everything this mixtape represents. This original concept has been structured to provide listeners with the ability to relate to the journey taken on some of the featured tracks and hopefully creates a mental image of what Belt Buckle is whilst keeping you entertained and pressing play!
